New Products

Announcing access to an array of new products. I was after one particular product but I figured I could allow people to look for others they might want as well. There is but one note I will make, I have only personally tested one of these products and it will be posted in the products section of my web site with a paypal add to cart button. All the other products in the catalog I could order for you upon request but only the repeat cycle timer has made my A+ list so far. I’m sure there are plenty of other great products in the catalog but I just haven’t gotten to test them out yet.

Anyway here is a link to the pdf of these new products I have access to.

And finally, the item I was most interested in.

Repeat Cycle Timer

Repeat Cycle Timer

The ART-DNe recylcing timer by Custom Automated Products controls any application requiring a device to be turned on and off at precise intervals. The ART-DNe has a user adjustable on time of 1 second to 40 minutes and an off time of 1 minute to 8 hours. A day/night/both switch allows you to select the time period that the ART-DNe will operate. The ART-DNe timers have a wide range of uses including controlling hydroponic pumps, simple CO2 controller, turning on and off ozone generators, running exhaust fans, etc. ART-DNe timers are rated for 15 amps @ 120 volts. Three year warranty.

I’ve been running this timer for about a month now and I’m quite happy with it. I intend to include it as part of any kit that will run a timer controlled pump that runs an indexing valve system and I would also recommend this timer for most situations where a 15 minute increment timer might also work. I’ve had even a higher quality mechanical timer fail before. This timer has the benefit over the Titan Appollo 2 in that the day/night or always is controlled by a switch instead of requiring some combination of nob turns at power up to set it.

I am a maintenance man in a factory and I am dealing with this kind of timers all the time.
I would recommend that a surge protector powerstrip is used with this kind of timers, since the internal timer is electronic and any high voltage ( lighting) could destroy it. It may stop working above 100 F. The internal relay is made for 10,000 cyles, but it could be readily found and even replaced by an knowledgeable person . I would also recommend that it should be used with an GFCI when using in an aquaponic system.

All very good recommendations Johannn. Question though, if the timer is plugged into a GFCI outlet do you think it is also necessary to use a surge protector type power strip as well? And is a special surge protector power strip needed above and beyond the standard power strip with the breaker trip switch in it?

    This timer is very dependable.

  • I am enjoying this timer very much, and so are my fish and plants. It’s as if we can all breathe better because our “inhales” and “exhales” are no longer tied to 15-minute slices.
Water is getting visibly clearer unless it’s just my imagination.

I may make one teeny mod, put a rubber washer under each control knob just to give a little friction – they are very free-turning. Not in a bad way, it feels solid, but I would like a little ‘stay-put’ when adjusting. Very fine tuning possible.
Relegating the ol’ GE to backup stock.

Yea I can see how just a little tiny touch can change the amount of time. This is especially true when dealing in seconds instead of minutes. I’m glad you like the timer. I find them very nice.
