Life gets busy but Aqupaponics is easy

So I haven’t been as good about writing my blog posts lately but at least the aquaponics systems seem to get along just fine with little attention provided the system is well designed and balanced. Things can still go wrong but for the most part the aquaponics system needs just a quick glance each day . . . → Read More: Life gets busy but Aqupaponics is easy

Techstration that is tech x frustration

So I’ve been spending hours trying to figure out how to make a fish cam. Well it isn’t the fish cam itself that is frustrating me. It is how to get it up on the web that I’m struggling with.

So far I don’t think most of my problems actually have anything to do with . . . → Read More: Techstration that is tech x frustration

See the kiddie pool or whatever else we would use to give water to the ducks would get so nasty so fast and hand to be dumped and washed every other day and was such a waste of water. So when a neighbor brought us an old . . . → Read More: Duck A Ponics

I’ve adjusted some things so that the aquaponics system is now operating . . . → Read More: 300 Gallon system Jan 20, 2011 Video

300 gallon video Jan 2, 2011

Well at the beginning of 2011 the 300 gallon aquaponics system looked a bit empty on the plant life but the fish were doing well. Here is a video of that aquaponics system.

300 gallon update

Well, after cleaning out the dead fish and leaving the system pump constantly and running flooded beds for several days as well as some extra pumping and filtration, the water is still a little cloudy but I decided it was time to put in some test pilots. I moved 4 fish from the other system . . . → Read More: 300 gallon update

Fish Kill

Fishkill

This was in my 300 gallon system (the big system is still doing fine and the really big fish are still living.) It is winter here and my systems . . . → Read More: Fish Kill

Sometime Fish Get Sick

Let me start by saying I have never (knock on wood) killed a complete stock of fish. However, occasionally things happen and I have lost a few. Most illness in fish is brought on by stress and poor water quality. It is important that when one will be handling the fish the water quality should . . . → Read More: Sometime Fish Get Sick
